John Harkness, Chairman
Mr Harkness was appointed as Chairman of Reliance Rail on 1 February 2011. He was a partner of KPMG for 24 years and National Executive Chairman for five years. Since leaving KPMG in June 2000, Mr Harkness has held a number of non-executive director roles.
Mr Harkness is currently a director at Goodman Group, Charter Hall Retail REIT and Sinclair Knight Merz Management Pty Limited. He is a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He brings extensive financial and business experience to the board.
Mr Peacock was appointed a director of Reliance Rail in April 2010.
Mr Peacock currently holds a number of Directorships including RXR Australia Managements Ltd, UniSuper Ltd and Chair of the Investment Committee, Riverland Water Pty Ltd, The Infrastructure Fund of India and Leichhardt Coal Ltd. He is also a member of ASIC’s External Advisory Committee. He was a member of the ASX Corporate Governance Committee from its formation in 2003 until March 2006.
Mr Peacock has had over 40 years domestic and international experience in a variety of investment areas, including Fund Management, Private Equity, Infrastructure and Property. Mr Peacock was Chief Investment Officer and a Director of AMP Capital Investors for five years until his retirement in January 2006.
Mr Peacock qualified as an Associate of the Australian Society of Accountants, is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.Mr Peacock was appointed as acting Reliance Rail chair from 25 October 2010 to 31 January 2011.
Martyn JacksonMartyn Jackson was appointed a director of Reliance Rail in June 2009. Mr Jackson has a long involvement in PPP's having overseen the construction and transition into full operational service of a number of Australian projects. He is currently on the board of the Gold Coast Rapid Transit PPP as well as a number of social infrastructure PPP's.
He previously led the PPP Asset Management team at Babcock and Brown and more recently has led the Amber Infrastructure team on a number of successful PPP transactions.
Brad Williams was appointed a director of Reliance Rail in March 2016. Mr Williams has over 13 years of accounting and investment experience and is responsible for the origination and management of existing investments across both transportation and university student accommodation sectors.
Mr Williams supported AMP Capital's expansion in a former role as the Chief Operating Officer for the global Infrastructure division and continues to be actively involved across the business. Further, Mr Williams has previously worked in the London office as a senior investment analyst with the European Investment Team.
Prior to joining AMP Capital, Mr Williams worked with Henderson Global Investors and BNP Paribas, both in London. Mr Williams holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and a Diploma in Computer Applications, both from the University of Wollongong, Australia and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Peter Katz, Chief Executive Officer
Mr Katz was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Reliance Rail in January 2014. Mr Katz is the former Executive General Manager – Development for Lend Lease Services and has a wide experience in the infrastructure sector in Australia and internationally. This includes rail and transport projects, project finance, project management and delivery, risk management and operations and maintenance for both public and private organisations.
Previously, Mr Katz served as Group General Manager – Operations and Development for UGL Pty Ltd. Prior to that role he was CEO of the Parramatta Rail Link Company (TIDC) and National Manager Major Projects for Kinhill/ Brown & Root in Sydney.
Michael Ferguson joined Downer as Deputy Group Chief Financial Officer in May 2014. Mr Ferguson was appointed Acting Chief Financial Officer in April 2016.
Mr Ferguson has held a range of senior finance positions in a career spanning 20 years. Mr Ferguson was previously VP Finance for ASX listed explosives group Dyno Nobel and more recently held a number of portfolio CFO positions for a large private equity fund.
Mr Ferguson trained as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young.
Peter Tompkins joined Downer in 2008 and has held the role of Group General Counsel & Company Secretary since 2011.
Mr Tompkins is a member of the Downer Group Executive Committee and has extensive experience in public transport infrastructure with a particular focus on heavy and light rail PPPs. Mr Tompkins is a Director of Keolis Downer, which is responsible for the operations of the Yarra Tram network in Victoria and the Gold Coast light rail in Queensland.
As a Director of Downer Rail, Mr Tompkins' other rolling stock project experience covers the successful implementation of rolling stock fleets into Queensland, Western Australia as well as major rolling stock bids in New South Wales and Victoria.
Mr Tompkins has Degrees in Law and Commerce (Accounting) as well as Corporate Governance (from the Governance Institute of Australia).
