Reliance Rail
Reliance Rail entered into the NSW Rolling Stock Public Private Partnership (PPP) with RailCorp in December 2006 to deliver and maintain 626 new suburban passenger train carriages for Sydney’s rail network.
Reliance Rail is owned by a consortium of leading international infrastructure developers and financial services companies—Downer EDI, AMP Capital Investors, ABN AMRO and Babcock & Brown Public Partnerships.
During the PPP Project, Reliance Rail is supported by a team of the rail industry’s foremost engineering and services organisations including Downer EDI Rail and Hitachi.
Reliance Rail will deliver a new world-class fleet for Sydney rail commuters, replacing 498 non air-conditioned carriages and providing additional rolling stock capacity for RailCorp on the CityRail network.
